Aadhaar Card Compulsory for New Registration for Pension Schemes by Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare

Aadhaar card or the Aadhaar card number is compulsory for new registration for all central and states level pension schemes covered under Defined Contribution Pension Scheme (New Pension Scheme) and National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) operated by Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare. Even if there is delay in getting Aadhar Card, the 28 digit Enrollment number can be filled in the form while enrolling for the Scheme. The Union Rural Development Minister of India is informed that once the Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme is implemented all over India then all the schemes and services of the government will be covered under the Aadhar based payment system. By this scheme all the government money will directly come into the hands of the people and there is will be no intermediates between the government and the public. This scheme provides direct benefits too nearly above 8 crores people in India. This scheme helps the citizen of India like disabled, old age, widow etc. And also with the implementation of the scheme help senior citizen for the pension without visiting the treasury. For this scheme Finance Department already interlinked with the Aadhaar card for the distribution of various welfare pensions and also made compulsory to submit Aadhaar card details.

In this scheme or in the Aadhaar card compulsory scheme for pension with the help of the direct Benefit Transfer Scheme Banks will play an important role in the making or in the completion of the scheme in all over India. By which the all government scheme money will de deposited directly into individual Bank account without any problem. For the successful implementation of this scheme government has asked for the installation of ATM’s outside the branches of the public sector banks. And also the public sector insurance companies has to setup their branches in the small towns and in the small cities. The central government also planning to distribute the pensions through the e-payment gateway or through the Electronic benefits transfers to bank or post office accounts beneficiaries

But in the implementation of this scheme state government and central government is facing some problems. The state governments received so many request forms various pensioners relating to the Aadhaar card that they do not received their Aadhaar cards. So the central government and the Finance Department decided to put a hold on this scheme or in the making Aadhaar card or Aadhaar number compulsory for any pension or other government benefits. The main reason behind this scheme or make a hold on this scheme is that the people could not receive their Aadhaar card so they are unable to submit their all details in their relevant departments. But the government made Aadhaar card or Aadhaar number compulsory for getting the pension benefits from January 2014.
