Aadhaar Card Not Compulsory for Gas Booking

At present Government has decided that aadhaar card not compulsory for Gas Booking.Aadhaar card is a 12-digit individual identification number or national identification number which can be issued by the Unique Identification authority of India (UIDAI) on behalf of Government of India. The central government issued the notice according that the Direct Benefit Transfer scheme starting in India on the LPG. Under this scheme the consumers would be required to seed their Aadhaar card number with their bank account to avail subsidy on domestic cooking gas (LPG) after three months from the launch of Direct Benefit Transfer in their area. The Minister clarified that Aadhaar is not compulsory for receiving domestic LPG cylinder at market determined price.

The government also said that the subsidized LPG cylinders can be purchased without having Aadhaar card or without Aadhaar card number. And also said that the government has decided to delink Aadhaar card/number or Aadhaar account from disbursal of subsidized LPG cylinders. In the Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme the Aadhaar platform, which provides a resident after recording bio-metric information like finger prints and iris, is being used to implement the cash transfer scheme. The Aadhaar card mainly related with as identity and address proof but in case of LPG it related with the Direct Benefit Transfer scheme in which the Aadhaar card link with the bank account and the gas agency in which subsidy money directly deposit in your bank account. But in case of gas booking there is no relation with the Aadhaar card and you can also purchase gas cylinder without Aadhaar card but no subsidy will given to you. But now the latest or recently news coming that the there is no need of Aadhaar card in the purchase of subsidies cylinder or to purchase the cylinder at market or the government price.
