Due to difference between details in Aadhar Card, Gas Connection Account Details and Bank Account Details and Non issuance of Aadhar card to all the resident of India, Central Government has  terminated the Aadhaar card gas subsidy scheme from 10th March 2014 onwards, the scheme of the LPG gas subsidy will not be implemented and there is no need of the Aadhaar card in the purchase of the domestic Gas cylinder. The gas cylinder will be available at the normal rate or at the normal price of Rs.435/- per LPG Gas cylinder i.e. at reduce price after deducting subsidy. Those all who have booked LPG Gas before 10th March 2014 will be charged the non-subsidized price that is Rs.1200/- and the rest subsidized amount will be credited back into their bank accounts. And also getting 12 subsidies cylinder in a year instead of 9 subsidies cylinders in a year.

Original Idea related to Aadhar Card Scheme and Implementation of Aadhar Gas Subsidy Scheme

Aadhaar card is a 12-digit individual identification number or national identification number which can be issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on behalf of Government of India. Its aims to create a universal database, backed with biometric data such as fingerprints and retinal scans, capable of verifying the identity of every Indian resident not citizenship. Central Government of India (UPA II) decided to link the Aadhaar card with the LPG gas connection and the subsidy on the gas cylinder will be directly deposited in the customer’s bank account. LPG Direct Subsidy Transfer Scheme links bank account of all the LPG gas connection holder to the gas connection number for direct transfer of subsidy on the LPG gas cylinder by government to their bank account and deleting the middlemen.  And the cost of per cylinder will be without any subsidy.i.e gas cylinder will be supplied at normal price of Rs 1200/- and the government subsidy per cylinder will be credited to bank account of connection holder.
